Giorgio Armani Christmas Make Up Palette

Between me spotting this on Selfridges website and calling it in to swatch it up for you, it had sold out! Just when I’m thinking that the high street is taking it on beautiful, purse friendly make-up, I realise that luxury still has us gripped.

I mean, it does feel like a jewel in the hand with its glossy, sumptuous casing and I’m not really surprised that it flew from the Selfridges web site. I also think there are a lot of Armani palette collectors out there. So, let’s dig down into the contents. As you can see, it has a row of shimmers, a row of mattes and two central shades (one shimmer, one matte) that make a 10 pan eye palette.

The bottom row contains Luminous Silk Compact powder in a shade adaptive colour (bear in mind it can only adapt so far, so if you have deep tones this isn’t going to be a good fit) and two shades of Maestro Fusion Make Up which can be used as a concealer or wherever you need extra coverage. There are two sponge applicators.

As you can see, it swatches up beautifully. The presentation is luxurious – a velvet bag holds it all together with two little eye applicators as well. Linda Cantello, who creatively directs these palettes, has such an eye for wearable bolds – there’s nothing day time and shy about this – it’s all about the dark smoky eye with glimmer and smoulder. I’ve tracked it down to the Armani UK site (where I should have looked first instead of panicking that it was all sold out!) and it’s £99 HERE.
