How To Make Kawaii Strawberries

I know I’m going madly off topic here, but I made these Kawaii strawbabies at the weekend after seeing a YouTube tutorial on them, and after Instagramming, got so many questions on how to make them I thought I’d just cover it off on the blog. They’re the simplest things in the world to do – in theory you can use any soft fruits – pears or peaches for example.

You literally just use a scoop (I got a set of measurement scoops from Tesco for about £4 and used the 1/4 teaspoon scoop but you can size accordingly, depending upon what fruit you’re using). I bought large strawberries and a melon with orange flesh but any colour is fine.

Using the scoop, scoop out a round hole in the strawberry and discard the flesh then scoop out a ball of melon – slot it into the hole in the strawberry and then pipe on a little face with melted chocolate. It’s that simple! Takes a few seconds. In the tutorial I watched they used little heart shaped sprinkles and inserted the heart shaped end where I’ve put the chocolate smile – so the pointy end looks like a little duck bill. Very cute.

So, there you go. Can you tell my mind isn’t on beauty today!
