I had a very brief look at the Elizabeth Arden Gelato Crush collection in last week’s Eight Hour post, but now I’ve had a chance to play with colours and textures for this high summer make up edit.
There are four Cool Glow Cheek Tint – they’re made to a ‘bouncy’ formula, which means that they’re a water based gel so very light in feel on the skin. They’re such a good option for dry or older skin because they’re full of hyaluronic acid and ceramides. The finish is dewy, with a light tint of colour – very blendable, but don’t be put off by the mesh topper that holds the blush in place inside the pot. It is a very liquid formula and my advice is not to use finger tips but to use a small blush brush or even a large eye brush to apply. Personally, I think it’s a bit pricey at £28 but there really aren’t many formulas like this that merge seamlessly with the complexion.
The two shades I have here are Coral Daze and Berry Rush.
The Gelato Crush Lipsticks are truly the stars of this summer edit. Again, fuelled by hyaluronic and peptides, as soon as I’d tried one of these, I popped it in my handbag to use over the summer (shade Red Velvet) because the texture is so lovely.
From left to right: Strawberry Sorbet, Red Velvet, Just Peachy, Rose Macaroon and Black Cherry which gives a hint of a wine stain. These aren’t high saturation colours – you get a bit more than a tinted balm but a lot less than a full on lipstick in terms of pigment, but goodness, they are all of the comfortable on the lip. They’re just a joy to use in terms of smoothness and hydration thanks to shea butter and I’m so impressed with this ‘nearly melted’ formula.
Because my tone is warm at the moment, I can wear the vampy nuance of Red Velvet and not look as though I’m ill and I love it! They’re £22 each, HERE, at John Lewis which has the full line up and they’re a big recommend for a juicy lip look for all ages. I will point out that because they’re ‘melty’ they don’t stay pristine in the tube – a couple of uses and mine looks very sought into and whatever you do, don’t leave them in the sunshine!
