Pure Color Nail Lacquer
Pure Color Nail Lacquer

Oh, look… Estee Lauder gets moody! The Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer Fall 2014 is actually a matte finish collection (groan) but it’s apparently not uber-matte (I haven’t had time to get out my samples yet). However, the colours are gorgeously earthy and architectural with down notes to make them a little more ashy and muted. I’m a sucker for a Lauder nail, and even though I’m not massively keen on matte, I can see that in the context of the colours here, texture is in keeping. But, I will put a glossy top-coat on it!

Again, I’m against the clock when it comes to swatching – I have one of the new Pure Color Envy Sculpting EyeShadow 5-Color Palettes which I’ll swatch for Sunday’s posts. But, there are ten new limited edition palettes on their way and they’re all these deep, smoky nude tones and the clue is in the name, because they’re all about sculpting the eye with a mix of textures from satins through to matte and pearls.

This skin-tone, smoked look is something I’m seeing a lot of with the autumn/winter collections – it’s heading to be a muted and moody autumn. They also look a lot like Lancome’s palettes, I can’t help noticing. I also think you’ll probably (luckily) only need one of these, because tonally they’re really quite similar. Nonetheless, I want to start wearing mine now!

The palettes are an eye-watering £40 each, while the nail lacquers are £14.50 and scheduled for September. There are, of course, lips to come as well – a sneaky peek below:
