[unpaid/sample] If you’ve read this site for a while, you’ll have seen that during lock-down I resurrected my Estee Lauder Solid Fragrance collection, re-shot them and posted all about them individually which of course, reignited my interest. It wasn’t appropriate to write about beauty as such when things were so worrying – I barely wore any make-up, never mind wondered what was new – so I went through all the items (as well as Estee Lauder) that I’d collected from over the years instead. Nothing to buy, just to look and to keep a sense of rhythm about those strange days (f you want to see them again, put ‘estee lauder solid fragrance’ in my search bar). I asked a little while back, when I saw that Estee Lauder was combining with Disney again, this time all things Mickey related, if I could borrow a couple to shoot and a couple of weeks ago, this one arrived as a gift to me.
I mean, what can cheer you up more than a figurine of Minnie Mouse enjoying a deliciously bubbly bath? All the figurines are designed by jeweller, Monica Rich Kossan.
Estee Lauder Solid Fragrance The Magic Of MickeyTo access the fragrance, you flip up the bubbles (and poor Minnie!) and you’ll find the bath tub is full of Pleasures solid perfume. The inside lid is embossed with the year (very useful for collectors) and the name of the piece which is Caring Is In The Little Things.
I notice that they’ve brought the Gingerbread House (in the USA so far) back for their seasonal collection – I have the original from 2000 (HERE) and the only difference I can spot is that instead of just ‘rubies’ dotting the roof, it’s diamonds and rubies. Otherwise, it’s the same. The new Estee Lauder x Mickey collection has just launched into Harrods – they’re not cheap – Minnie in the bath is £350 HERE, but what a precious thing to have! There’s also a Mickey Mouse holding balloons, £350 HERE, and a little push along striped suitcase with red jewels and a gold Mickey outline, £350 HERE.
