The five piece MAC Giambattista Valli collection is going to get matte lipstick lovers excited. There are shades in here that I’ve never seen before (not quite) and they are absolutely full of pigment. If you love a power lip – this is all yours!
I have three of the five shades – from left to right: Eugenie, a dark cherry with blue undertones, Tats, a bright hot pink and Margherita, a bright peach with yellow undertones.
I prefer MAC’s collections with designers than with celebrities – and like the MAC Giambattista Valli for being only five pieces; it really doesn’t feel like a MAC overload this time. For those that look at glorious colours like these and can’t wear mattes, there is also a multicoloured pearl gloss, Lena, that you could wear alone or over the top of any of the shades.
It’s a small thing, but I actually love the fact that they’re different coloured tubes – I think MAC should do this more often – I feel like I’ve looked at that same black MAC lipstick casing for years; let’s shake it up! Actually, it’s a nice attention to detail that the casings are also matte to reflect the texture as well as the colour of the lipsticks.
The MAC Giambattista Valli collection launches in July at Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Selfridges and Selfridges.com as well as maccosmetics.co.uk. They’re £17 each and the lip glaze is £19.

MAC are turning out collections so often that I can’t keep track anymore. So much so that I give up, I just don’t buy anything from collections as one they sell out before I can even say MAC and two because there is a collection every other month none of them feel any special anymore.

I hate the fact Mac keep releasing new collections constantly, but these shades are lovely!
I am in love with the packaging so simple like the classic MAC packaging but the colour makes them stand out. I may have to purchase the purple as I think it would look beautiful in the evening or Autumn and the bright pink because it is perfect for Summer.
