The five piece MAC Giambattista Valli collection is going to get matte lipstick lovers excited. There are shades in here that I’ve never seen before (not quite) and they are absolutely full of pigment. If you love a power lip – this is all yours!
I have three of the five shades – from left to right: Eugenie, a dark cherry with blue undertones, Tats, a bright hot pink and Margherita, a bright peach with yellow undertones.
I prefer MAC’s collections with designers than with celebrities – and like the MAC Giambattista Valli for being only five pieces; it really doesn’t feel like a MAC overload this time. For those that look at glorious colours like these and can’t wear mattes, there is also a multicoloured pearl gloss, Lena, that you could wear alone or over the top of any of the shades.
It’s a small thing, but I actually love the fact that they’re different coloured tubes – I think MAC should do this more often – I feel like I’ve looked at that same black MAC lipstick casing for years; let’s shake it up! Actually, it’s a nice attention to detail that the casings are also matte to reflect the texture as well as the colour of the lipsticks.
