The stocking fillers are starting to arrive at my desk now and obviously a gin flavoured lip balm caught my eye straight away! The Marks & Spencer Gin & Tonic Lip Balm is sweet and simple – it does have a very faint gin and tonic-ish backdrop but unless something is really awry, you’re buying this for the fun factor and not actually the gin. It’s a very basic balm but packaged nicely and full of potential for jokes about secret swigs and so on. I’ve tested the handcream – also a basic, but effective formula – there is a little hint of gin about about it but it fades off quickly. In this scenario, that’s a good thing – nobody needs to be smelling of booze at 9am!
If a cheeky G&T isn’t your thing, the alternative option is the Fizz & Bubbles duo – nominally ‘champagne’ but actually smells more like sweeties. The balms are £3.50 each and the handcreams, £4. They don’t seem to have launched online yet, but it’s any day now.

What a fun idea! Love the art-deco scallops on the gin and tonic package.

I have the Library of Fragrance gin & tonic perfume – so I don’t mind a bit smelling of booze at 9am!
