[productsamples] Normal service will be resumed next week, I promise! I have my new camera now and feel much, much happier about posting make up rather than just skin care or fragrance but one way or another so many things have conspired to make this week difficult in terms of time that I’ve kind of thrown my hands in the air! So, one post today, hopefully the full three tomorrow, and then a new week. So, I haven’t seen any Kiko for such a long time that it surprised me all over again at just how good it is.
I mean, just look at this pretty thing! It’s the Sicilian Baroque Palette, EU19.99, filled with sunset and earthy shades that swatched absolutely beautifully. It sort of reminds me of Pupa which not, I am sure, what the brand were heading for, but I also see the baroque references. It’s easy to pick out individual shades with a shadow brush so in that respect it’s thoughtfully and considerately made to be used rather than to look at. The colours, without exception, are high pigment and give a smooth application.
The packaging is really premium looking – I would not know this is a £20 palette from the packaging, that’s for sure. Something about it reminds me of D&G and certainly the website imagery has that vibe too.
The Nourishing Bronzer is fuelled with lemon seed oil and hyaluronic – it’s certainly a very silky texture and shouldn’t have a drying effect because of the extra ingredients. It’s EU14.99 and comes in two shades. This one, Mediterranean Sand, is a light bronze shade with a peach middle and I can’t detect any shimmer in it so it’s a good option if you shy away from sparkly bronzers. Next to the bronzer is the Coloured Lip Balm in Flowers Jam, EU8.99 (there are four shades in this collection) that’s has a light feel but mid level pigment. It doesn’t go to a high, glossy shine on the lips but stays at sheen level. Personally, I didn’t find it particularly balmy but liked the finish a lot.
Above are the palette swatches, and below, the bronzer and lip balm. The Fall collection is HERE.
