Freedom Black Swan Makeup Kit

I know that the Freedom Black Swan Makeup Kit has been selling like hot cakes in the past week or so, so I was surprised to be able to buy one in my local Superdrug. It was one of only 3 or 4 left though. It’s spectacular value for £8 if you’re planning a major look for Halloween (which is apparently the biggest club night of the year – who knew?!).

The box contents are: 1 White Foundation, 1 Gel Eyeliner (black), one Liquid EyeLiner (white), I Liquid Lipstick (black) and one Quad Shadow palette. The idea is to make the look on the box inspired by the black swan from the Swan Lake ballet. I’m learning all the time and as it turns out, the ‘Black Swan‘ Pas de deux is an iconic moment if you know your ballet!

Don’t worry if you think you can’t do the look – there will be step by step instructions on-line on the Freedom YouTube channel (they’re not there yet – bad timing!). I haven’t even attempted it yet!

I think the Freedom Black Swan Makeup Kit is pretty versatile though – you don’t need to stick with the Black Swan programme to create a Halloween look – the Ghost Whitener gives a ghoulish pale cast to your skin and from there you can take the look anywhere at all!

I’ve done a quick swatch – bottom to top: white liquid liner, black liquid lipstick, eye quad shades and Ghost Whitener.

  1. Although I haven’t gone out for Halloween in years, I think kits like these are a great idea! This would have made life so much easier when I was running around desperately trying to find a costume during my uni years.

That white foundation looks like the perfect solution to lighten all of my too dark foundations (finding pale makeup is very difficult in Spain if you’re outside one of the major cities).
