If you love vanilla notes, head straight to your nearest Guerlain counter! Mon Guerlain Fragrance is heady with it. It’s not a jarring vanilla; actually, it’s very smooth being lifted and lightened a little by lavender but you could never call this a light or fresh fragrance. The presence of sambac jasmine just makes it even weightier.
What’s great is that the creator, Thierry Wasser, has kept to the history of the brand using Tahitensis Vanilla, also present in Shalimar, Habit Rouge and Jicky. Jicky was created originally in 1889 (and also contains lavender and sambac Jasmine), so I think there’s something rather lovely about the threading of the past into the present. It does settle somewhat from the huge burst of vanilla that it opens on but it’s still too strong, powdery and sweet for me. And I LIKE sweet and powdery!
Apart from that, there’s not much more I can tell you – other than it’s designed to address the woman that embodies modern feminity while being fearless, sensual and gentle…. like EVERY other French fragrance that’s ever made.

Love this, on me the lavender opening notes seem to last and last and I experience the most delicious lavender and vanilla for many hours. In fact, I can still catch faint wafts on my skin when I get up the next morning, it is that long lasting. I have no doubt this is intended to be a crowd pleaser but that in no way detracts from its quality and beauty!
I honestly think that one’s nose smells the thing that triggers the most olfactory response – whether you like it or not. I am not a massive fan of vanilla but I do like lavender… over-ridingly for my nose, I smell vanilla in this and I’d like it a whole lot more if I could get more of the lavender.
