The Body Shop has done the sensible thing and applied Black Friday deals to the whole of this week. As a blogger, I’m really at the sharp end of Black Friday marketing, being encouraged by affiliates to blast you with deals and steals. Of course it makes sense to make savings where you can so I will bring you one or two of what I think are the better deals around, but I’m not a shop. At the end of the day, where, how and why you buy is none of my business! Affiliate links, if you don’t know, are special links provided by brands via an affiliate agency that allows bloggers to take a tiny percentage of sales. And when I say tiny, I mean tiny. So, for example one of the affliate links I use a over the course of a year generated sales of a value of £2,549, of which my commission, over the year is £139. The affiliate company will also take a cut. I don’t habitually use affiliate links because a lot of what I write about hasn’t even launched yet, so there is literally nowhere to link to. But I do use them sometimes.
So, back to The Body Shop (who haven’t been blasting me, by the way!). There’s 40% off across most of the ranges at the moment with some exclusions so it makes sense to shop now if it’s on your list rather than wait for the entire cyber world to buckle under the strain of Black Friday. One of my picks is this little Enchanted Forest Shower Gel Set (£8 – before discount) because it’s not actually Christmas without the Body Shop’s beloved Satsuma, included alongside Mango, Strawberry and Moringa (although I always think Moringa is the duff one!). With 40% off, it’s a good set to break up for stocking fillers.
The spare gift! You know, the one you keep wrapped up and hidden in case someone ‘surprises’ you with a present you weren’t expecting! The Coconut Soft Hands Warm Kisses set (£7 before discount) is perfect for this one because that gorgeous, tropical smell will make anyone smile.
I often think the reason why so many men are all beardy these days is to stop the flow of gifts like this one, BUT, teenage boys on their first shaving adventures are all over the ‘proper’ shave and I love the style and presentation of the Modern Gent’s Shaving Kit. Teenage boys are my gifting nightmare to be honest but this is easily something I’d buy for my nephews and teen friends. It’s £25 (minus discount).
So, with all these in my basket at checkout, the total comes to £40; the discount is £16 bringing it round to £24. Shipping is free over £50 but £2.49 otherwise. You can find the products HERE.
