Every single time, I’m a sucker for Chanel. I’ve just got my hands on the yet-to-launch Coco Mademoiselle bath & body range which has Moisturising Body Lotion (with a touch of beige shimmer), Foaming Shower Gel and Velvet Body Oil (a silky dry oil), and it’s just lovely. I can’t think of a more gorgeous way to get the day off to a perfectly pampered start. Nobody really mentions ‘fragrance layering’ these days; it used to be a complete beauty fad – from the marketing perspective, a reason why you should buy everything, and from a beauty perspective, another way to experience perfuming. It was recommended that you would bathe in scented oils, slosh on the lotion and then add the perfume on top. Everyone with an ounce of a sense of smell realised that it was a way over the top method. So, these days, its kind of an either/or, not an all-at-once.

Although it will always be No5 for me, Coco Mademoiselle is a really pretty scent that’s best described as a powdery floral-oriental; i.e. enough femininity and flowers not to be overpoweringly exotic, but not a bridal bouquet scent either.

Anyway, the prices are as follows. Body Lotion, £35, Shower Gel, £30 and Body Oil, £37, and they launch into stores on 24th September.
