Ciate Glitter Flip

The new Ciate Glitter Flip is a formula I have never seen before so in that respect it’s rather exciting. However, you will very definitely need to be on board with a glitter lip.

The formula goes on like a matte liquid lipstick – you need to wait a couple of minutes for it to really dry properly (maybe not even that long) and while glitter is very slightly evident at that stage, after you’ve smooshed your lips together and worked them about a bit, the sparkly aspect really does begin to show up. I have a picture press release that’s rather misleading – someone got a bit sparkle happy on Photoshop I think – you won’t end up with dazzling, multi-light glitters blazing away, but you certainly do get a twinkly, glittery lip. It’s more effective on the darker shades I think – the pale pink in the picture was rather underwhelming, but it definitely does what it says it will.

I’ve tried to replicate a lip smoosh in the swatch – it’s not nearly as impressive in the swatch as it is actually on the mouth. The shades I have are Fortune, Iconic and Candy although there are 7 shades. It’s £17 but sold out presently which is a surprise because it’s only just been sent out to on-line. It IS a gimmick but it’s one that actually does work.
