[unpaid/sample] As soon as I saw the sun come out, I re-swatched these colour change glosses and shot out there to see if they do, as claimed, change colour in the sunshine. The results are revealed at the end of the post because these shades stand on their own two feet, colour flip or not.

Ciate Colour Flip Gloss

These are exactly the juicy gloss textures I like – lustrous and mid-sheer in colour and non-sticky in finish. From left to right in the picture above are Sunrise, Amethyst and Flame.

Ciate Colour Flip Gloss

I’m particularly taken with Amethyst which is the kind of greyed nude that always manages to look polished and stylish. The strangest thing is that they all smell a little bit like coffee – not unpleasant at all, but certainly unexpected.

So here we are – the first shot is IN the sun, the second is out of the sunshine. As you can see, the shades all become a deeper, more dramatic version of their initial selves. Imagine starting with one shade, transforming to another in the sun and then switching back when out of the light – all in one gloss. I love it for the fun aspect – I don’t suppose non-beauty friends would notice a thing but I’d be somewhat transfixed if it happened on someone I was with. I’d think I was imagining it! Bottom line, despite the gimmick which is very successful, these shades are lovely both in and out of light so it’s a thumbs up for the fun factor and everything else as well. They’re £17 each HERE.
