Veiled Rouge
Veiled Rouge

For spring 2015, Shiseido has launched a entirely new lipstick formula – Veiled Rouge. I think it’s the dream lip formula – containing a new innovation from Shiseido which they’re rather coyly calling a veiling pearl. The bottom line here is that you get an oil infused lip colour that feels absolutely amazing – not kidding – and gives a real kick of hydration.

The formulation takes the notion of ‘sheen’ to a whole other level – there’s no stickiness or tackiness to the formula; just an absolute delight to wear. I’m so impressed with these and particularly for the older age group because not only does the lipstick really flatter the lip in terms of giving a more even looking surface, but it’s infused with hyaluronic acid and a collagen complex. It doesn’t eradicate all creases, but certainly gives the illusion of softening. I’m totally sold on these! If I was ever going to make a lipstick myself, it would be this very thing. The shades above are Orangerie (with a golden highlight), Sloe and Carrera.

Compared to other luxury ranges, I don’t think that Shiseido Veiled Rouge Lipsticks are particularly expensive at £19 HERE. These are a high recommend from me, particularly for older women.

I’ve also got one of the new shades in the Shimmering Cream Eye Colour – in (appropriately for a grey London day) Fog. If you haven’t used the shimmers, they feel almost like a gel texture and give a wash of colour – you can build them to any intensity you like but I prefer to use it as an actual wash. My only complaint about these formulas is that they go onto the lid as a super soft creme but then dry completely. When that happens, some of the glitter can then fall (as it has done already on me and I only put it on about 20 minutes ago). I remember this issue from the last time I used it and I think it’s a bit of a shame that that hasn’t been rectified given that there are some incredibly beautiful colours (think pinks and oranges) in the Shimmering Cream Eye Colour line up. The new colour line up for eyes hasn’t yet gone on sale.
