Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour

I have got packing for carry-on down to a fine art – I can’t remember the last time I took full-size luggage anywhere. It’s helpful that I don’t do long breaks but still, I know how to roll a holiday wardrobe into a 45 inch linear suitcase and be first in the taxi queue for the hotel, sunglasses on and ready for the first vacay rosé.

Famously good Eight Hour is an easy win for travelling light; these little travel size tins in the Take Off & Touch Down Lip Duo are all of the holiday mood with a Lip Scrub in one and Lip Protectant in the other. Even if you’re not up for scrubbing in-flight (I would), landing lipstick ready with hydrated and soft lips from Eight Hour Lip Protectant is the best glamorous holiday beginning. I’ve picked my favourite lip shades from the new summer collection Plush Up Lip Gelatos – Coral Glaze, Natural Blush and Grape Affair. They’ve got a light buttery, melty finish and vibrant sheer colour wrapped around hyaluronic acid and shea with a dash of peptide for a smooth lip look.

My top multi-use tip for that little pot of Lip Protectant balm is to rub a tiny amount over the points on your feet where you think those new shoes or flip flops might rub! It creates a ‘slip’ that will help you avoid a blister. You can easily use it on small dry spots (toes, anyone?) or to smooth an unruly brow.

I’m in London this summer – it’s not a staycation exactly because I’ve been away a couple of times already and have more trips planned for later in the year. I like London in summer – there’s a happier atmosphere on sunny days – lots of laughter and eating al fresco (watch those tables get snapped back inside by September!) and so much to do on sultry August evenings. Outdoor cinemas appear alongside pop up beaches and vintage style ice-cream carts on the street – it’s so much fun. I can spend an entire day in the town where I live and yet feel I could be anywhere in the world. All it takes is blue sky and sunshine.

Staying or going, a daily multi-tasker is summer’s best beauty friend for cutting down on what you carry in your handbag or beach bag. Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant can be used on dry, post flight complexions, on cuticles (fingers and toes), massaging into sore sight-seeing or pavement feet or deeply conditioning shopping bag hands. The limited edition packaging for summer Eight Hour has all the good vibes whether you’re by the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal or Big Ben.
