Shiseido Bio Performance Super Exfoliating Discs

These are my guilty pleasure at the moment. The Shiseido Bio Performance Super Exfoliating Discs make me feel happy-guilty every time I use them because they’re so lovely and make my skin feel so soft.. but £68 for 8. All very well when they’re a sample that I didn’t actually buy myself but it’s a big ask for your average consumer. So, they’re falling very firmly into treat territory, but they are treats indeed!

The double-sided, padded puffs have one side as sheer silky cotton and the other is textured. You run your disc under a warm tap and squidge about a bit until the exfoliating Bio Performance serum starts to seep through the fabric. Start with the textured side and move over your face for about a minute and half – it’s definitely worth doing it for this amount of time but remember you’re not scrubbing the doorstep so go gently. When you’ve finished, you can sweep your skin over with the silk, non-textured side in a polishing motion and rinse with warm water. Actually, I don’t rinse, I use a micellar (BioEffect) to cleanse off any residue.

It’s as much the liquid inside the puff doing the work as the textured cotton – it contains yeast, rice bran and TMG (Betaine: skin hydrator) and really, the result is ultra-soft feeling skin that is highly receptive to any oils or creams you put on afterwards. I always have a good skin day following use, and I’m sort of hoarding my last remaining couple because this is one product I do not want to be over! It’s a very gentle exfoliation method so will suit more fragile skin types but although it’s dermatologist tested, I can’t say whether it’s okay for sensitive skin or not. Anyway, if you’re in the mood for a treat, they’re HERE.
