Moi aussi, Laura! The Laura Mercier J’Adore Soleil Collection is a very neat edit of summer bronzing essentials with some glam gloss thrown in. Laura Mercier usually does quite a pared back summer collection, but this one is, I think more pared back than usual which taps into the ‘less is more’ trend. She has focussed on bronzing and lips, and that’s it.
There are three bronzing options – the Soleil Matte Veil Creme (£30) that you can apply with fingertips or a brush for a weightless cream ‘veil’ with no glitter or shimmer. The second is the Soleil Matte Veil Powder (£30) for those that prefer a powder bronze – this one is lighter in tone so I think more wearable for paler skins.
Finally, there’s the Sunrise Crayon (£25) that’s all about the glow with pearlescence and illuminators. There is also a highlighting crayon.
The Lacquer Up Acrylic Lip Varnish (£22) in limited edition packaging comes in six shades – I have three here – who wouldn’t want one of these! The leopard print has elevated it from summer gloss to epic gloss!
There’s a red one on its way to me, but for now, the pale cream is Risque, the pink is Seductive and the orange is Soleil.
In the swatch from bottom to top is Sunrise, Matte Veil and Creme Veil.
In the swatch above for the gloss it’s Soleil, Seductive and Risque.
Really, you could just pick out one or two things from the collection and have summer sorted; if anything, the Laura Mercier J’Adore Soleil Collection shows that you can get by very well with less. It’s launching in the UK in May but I think it’s already launched in the US.
