Honestly, I think 5 pieces is about right for a limited seasonal collection in these days of complete over-saturation. As ever, Givenchy’s spring/summer colour story is a tidy edit that absolutely hits the spot on its inspiration of South Africa. It just goes to show that in the right hands, you can tell a story with 5 items.
The two new shades of Rouge Interdit Vinyl are African Copper and African Rose – both vibrant in their way with a juicy, shiny finish that’s semi transparent.
The obvious star of the show is the Bouncy Highlighter containing coconut water and macadamia oil to give a pale gold sheeny highlight on the skin. I know that ‘bouncy’ technology isn’t new exactly but I really don’t remember seeing bouncy products imprinted before and this is seamless – absolutely perfect without a nick or a dent in it anywhere. The pattern is reflective (apparently) of Givenchy’s latest fashion collections. One of the nicest things is that it’s cool on the skin when you apply it, thanks to its water content.
In the swatch, it’s Bouncy Highlighter (£30), African Raspberry & African Bronze (£25). Missing is a pearly khaki khol and a blush bronzer which I’ll show if I receive. The collection launches in April.
