bareMinerals 5 in 1 BB Eye Shadows

bareMinerals 5 in 1 BB Eye Shadows

When these first launched several years ago, I absolutely loved them for their staying power on lids either as stand alone shades or as an underwear layer to prime or enhance other colours.  I have two of the new shades – Smoky Espresso and Lumious Pearl to show you, and I’d advise Lumious Pearl as a lingerie shade – to sit underneath another colour to give it brightness and luminosity. A white shiny eye shadow is quite a tough wear on its own!

I always feel that these are the forgotten products in the bareMinerals line up so I’m pleased they’re temporarily back in the spotlight. The brands make a lot of claims on these so I’ll whizz through them.

Long Wear – yes, I have definitely found that they last.

Primer – yes, they do act as a decent, smoothing primer to hold colour over the top.

Brighten – depends entirely on what colour you use.

Smooth – yes, yes I do find that they smooth any lid creases – not completely but somewhat.

Protect – a mineral SPF of 15 – I’d expect any eyeshadow to give you a certain degree of protection just by covering the skin, but BM claims UVA and UVB.

As a tip, I would forget about using the doe’s foot wand. Just take a brush and whip a small amount from the doe applicator to apply to your lid. You have much more control that way. The new shades launch this month – they’re not out yet and stock across all stockists is very low on these.
