Ojon Home Straightening

Ojon is easily one of my favourite hair brands – I still buy copious quantities of Detox shampoo and use it every couple of weeks or so to get rid of build-up. It is one of the best, if not the very best for detoxing without stripping.

So, I’m quite excited for their launch of Super Sleek which looks like out-performing any of the straightening products so far. According to www.wwd.com, the products use a complex that matches the 5.5pH balance of hair, using a reshaping agent to smooth out the curved structure of hair, plant keratin that ‘flat irons’ the hair to realign natural keratin bonds and also fills in rough spots to give hair absolute smoothness: then combined with heat, what Ojon promise is hair that stays straight for 30 washes.

That’s a massive claim – the process takes an hour and a half to complete at home – but I kind of can’t believe that it won’t work because it’s from Lauder and they don’t bandy claims like that around lightly.

It’s launching in Ulta stores in January but in the UK it looks like we have to wait til late summer, early autumn.

  1. I can’t wait for this. Ojon just performs miracles on my hair and how nice would it be to forgo hair straighteners for over a month??

  2. What a great idea, although I think straight hair isn’t as popular as it used to be

Sorry to be a downer but Ojon Super Sleek isn’t worth the time, money, or effort! I bought it last week and used it 2 days ago. I am not at all impressed.

I am caucasian & have naturally curly hair and it’s very healthy. I use a flat iron to straighten it but I’ve used various straighteners/relaxers over the years. I didn’t need something to improve the health of my hair, I was simply looking for a product to cut down on the time I spend straightening it.

This is no different from any other, in fact, it’s not as good as others I’ve used. Since there are no hars chemicals it didn’t do anything to my hair at all. It smells like a typical, stinky relaxer and it’s very hard to rinse out! Never mind that it stripped my hair of the rich, brown color and it left it feeling gummy.

I followed the directions EXACTLY and it was a giant failure! Their promise that my hair would air dry with less frizz and that my curls would be shiny was incorrect. Oh well, just one more product I can add to my “does not work” list! I will wait two weeks and get my color fixed. Then I guess it’s back to the old flat iron! It works the best anyway.

I don’t recommend it but good luck if you decide to try it anyway!
