Marc Jacobs Splash 2012: Tropics

Whew..thank goodness Marc Jacobs has got rid of the oversize 200ml bottles of his annual splashes.. they were far too big unless you actually wanted to bathe in them. In a much more manageable size, (and a cool cube design) along comes the Tropics collection looking all things summer. In fact, Marc Jacobs Splashes are a key indicator that we really are heading for warmer months!

Hibiscus, Kumquat and Rain just about sum things up really, although I am pretty damn sure we don’t need reminding what rain smells like here in the UK. Rain is, incidentally, a re-release. Kumquat is the one I like best.. it’s a little bit sharp and quite fresh as well as having a woody element. Hibiscus is sweet and light with fruity notes.

They’re out now at £29 each.

  1. Managed to get a whiff of these not long ago at – really disappointed! I’m a sucker for summer scents but these were just poor. I love hibiscus flowers but on me this smelt like anything but hibiscus. Out of the three Kumquat smelt ok but not exciting enough for me to part my with money for it.

haha I love the description of the previous bottle sizes, they were humongous!!

These do look cuter but not a fan of the smells unfortunately, I prefer sweeter/vanilla smells =(

I will definitely consider picking one up now that they aren’t in those massive bottles anymore!
