Jo Malone London Rose Amber Cologne Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I love it when Jo Malone London gets a bit funky – the graffiti style writing and sploshy purple rose on the bottle made me immediately drawn to this blend of rose and amber.

I think whether you like this will depend on your view of amber. Personally, for me, it’s a bit too much amber so if you’re an amber fan, this will be your catnip. It’s interspersed with clove which is another love it or hate it note and I’m surprised to find it here, but it does mark it out as having its own definite personality.

The rose is clear as day – some beautiful sweetness coming from Rose Damescena and as the wear goes along it gradually starts to be more present than the amber and clove. It’s really quite an interesting wear because at the start I was definitely a no, and by the finish I was much more a yes. It’s the sort of fragrance that warms as you do and the start is not at all the same as the end and I rather like the unpredictability of this.
