This time, I cut down my beauty routine to an absolute minimum while I was away – much as I love trying and testing lots of lotions and potions, I just needed a break in routine in every single aspect.  I’ve just come back from three nights in Spain that was just sheer relaxation and the last thing I wanted to do was be complicated about anything at all, never mind beauty! I took a few basic make-up items and got even more basic on skin care in terms of product quantity. All I took was my Clinique face wipes, my little pot of L’Occitane Crème Divine from my PreciousPetals beauty box and some L’Oreal Day Cream which I decanted into a little pot (I have some sponsored work coming up with L’Oreal Paris so in the interests of clarity, have been trialling their night cream for a couple of weeks and changed it up to the day cream for my trip).

The amenities in the hotel, which we’ve stayed in before, are Clarins, so I didn’t need shower gel or shampoo or even body cream because it was all there. I’m telling you – I had space left over in my tiny plastic right-size-for-carry-on bag!

I’m going to save the sorry story of my sun burn (yes, I know) for another time, but Crème Divine did a perfect job of keeping up a good level of moisture (I didn’t burn my face) overnight as I knew it would and crucially, my skin was still beautifully hydrated by morning. As you can see, I still have plenty left for my next trip.

It’s a good moment in time to mention that L’Occitane has scooped another gold at Chelsea Flower Show with their Provence Garden, above. I like to think that all us mini Crème Diviners have influenced that somehow! There are a few #PreciousPetals boxes (a mix of the L’Occitane family with Erborian and Melvita products too) back at Latest in Beauty HQ left (HERE) but these small size beauty products are just brilliant for space saving and I’m always grateful for not having to decant and scrimp.

We’ve had such a great response to the pre-paid postcards that we included in the box with lots of good feedback from those who bought the box – I cannot wait to show the L’Occitane team!

And yes… I did bring the Clarins soap home….
