I really do like the look of the new make up range from Umberto Giannini with a few provisos. There is only one stand-alone product; the Painted Lady Palette, £10, otherwise you have to buy into a whole kit that includes both hair products and cosmetics. I’m a bit baffled by this because the graphics and packaging are so amazing and beautiful that I think the single shadows or nail polishes etc would do really well as stand alones. I know I’d find them hard to resist. Not sure I’m up for spending £25 on a kit to get my hands on the eyeshadow! However, that’s for them to work out I guess. In the meantime, the range is glossy looking and stylish: the cosmetics have been styled by make up artist Paul Gooch who has a BAFTA for his work on Alice In Wonderland and over 300 film and TV productions behind him.

There are a few more sets, all launching into Boots in September. Meanwhile, here’s a close up of the eye duos.. all kinds of gorgeous!

That looks stunning!
Love the packaging! It reminds me of the Stephane Marais line that is no longer with us.
The packaging for the makeup looks lovely and vintage style – not like I expected at all!!
Wow, the outer packaging on the eye duo is amazing!
Umberto Giannini here! Thanks for coming to our launch and for your honest feedback.
At the moment we are trialling the new Painted Lady line and want all you glam ladies to try them out – hence the main reason for getting them within our Christmas Gift sets. We hope you all love them and want more – let us know what you would like to see (drop us a tweet or a message on our FB page – umbertogianniniofficial).
Many thanks.

Oh noes – Just realised that you have to buy the whole kit to get the eye shadows – what a shame!
