While I feel sceptical about some of the marketing around this bubbly lotion, in use it’s absolutely delicious – gorgeously light on the skin, immediately softening, gently hydrating – there’s nothing not to like if you love a skin ritual. All of the Hydra Sparkling range contains Givenchy’s Sparkling Water Complex – creating tiny water bubbles in perpetual movement around the cells (which is actually where I have a bit of a believing problem). It’s a shame that it’s called ‘bubbling’ lotion because part of me was expecting it to feel fizzy on the skin and it doesn’t.
What is not in doubt – because I’ve tried it – is that its a lovely product. If you use an essence, you’d use this in the same way and I’d say it’s more of an essence-plus than a standard essence. As a pre-cursor to moisturiser, it really does leave skin feeling extra silky, extra hydrated and looking dewy so if you fancy an extra step, I’d highly recommend this. Interestingly, it’s quite hard to find – lots of places are low stock or out of stock, but I’ve tracked it down HERE for £33.
