[productsample/affiliate] Fenty Beauty is storming it at the moment, especially as it’s just become much more available by going into Boots. It’s an absolute lesson in how brand personality really counts in speaking to consumers and allowing them to feel an attachment as opposed to the any number of faceless, characterless brands that have built themselves on the Glossier model. It’s not enough to be pink.

I think we can safely say that my sample from a selection of seven shades won’t be for everyone! Motor Boat (£18) is a kind of swimming pool blue hue that’s destined for very specific looks. Think festival, think Ibiza nights, think disco. In terms of juiciness – yes, definitely there giving all the sheen which is better, I think, for bright shades than a matte finish. Pastels can look chalky very quickly.

Way more in my comfort zone are the two lip-care specific products, Luscious Lip Balm and Lip Loving Scrubstick. Scrubstick (£15) uses apricot seed particles which are very, very fine feeling in an emollient base stick. It’s actually extremely effective at exfoliating lips gently and if you apply the Lip Balm (£15) on your lips after you’ve exfoliated you’ll feel the difference.

These are both very lovely products that do their jobs well. The fragrance is peachy-vanilla (more peach thankfully than vanilla) – I can’t get on side with the name Pro Kiss’R but I’m ignoring it because they’re great. They’re HERE.
