Electric Ink Tattoo Care

There are enough faded tattoos in the world for us to know that tattoo care should have been a thing a long time ago. I have friends with the most beautiful, elaborate, labour intensive tattoos that should be looked after as carefully as jewels – they’re emotionally important as well as physically intricate.

I know that L’Oreal brought a version out last year (for boys.. because girls don’t tattoo obviously.. ahem) but Electric Ink Tattoo Care is unisex and for anyone who wants to really take care of their inks. Three products are formulated to keep definition and colour sharp as well as adding a skin sheen to keep it looking fresh.

Ingredients include Coconut Oil, Vitamin E Acetate, Vitamin C and White Lupin Seed Extract – they’re all great moisturisers but the one you really want, if you’re already good at maintaining skin hydration is the Vibrancy Serum. It contains Liftonin-Xpert which boosts collagen while giving anti-inflammatory action. I didn’t know that inflammation still occurs long after you’ve had a tattoo – there’s a good (and copyright protected) feature HERE that can tell you more – well worth a read.

Bottom line is that if you nourish and look after your tattoo it will stay vibrant for far, far longer than if you just don’t bother. Electric Ink is newly launched into Superdrug HERE with prices starting at £10.95.
