Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly

The theory of the new Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly is great – locks in moisture, keeps out pollution… it’s what everyone wants from their day moisturiser. If you prefer oil free then this is really perfect because there isn’t any in the formula and in terms of skin feel, it’s actually lovely. I honestly can’t fault it as I have a personal preference for textures like this, which I should point out isn’t quite as ‘jelly’ as the name suggests but is more serum like in feel. In fact, it’s not that different in skin feel to the GoW Hyaluronic that I reviewed last week.

Messaging on this product is slightly mixed and a good example why it’s important to read between the lines. On the one hand it claims to ‘protect skin from pollution daily’ and yet on the other says ‘makes skin less vulnerable to skin damaging pollution’ – one implies complete protection and the other implies partial. Nonetheless, I think if your skin suffers in the city heat and fumes then this is an any-age, any skin type solution that won’t make your skin feel more hot and sweaty but will keep it supple and to a certain extent, protected from those invisible particles that clog it up.

I can’t see this would be a regretful buy unless you need extreme hydration. It’s £31 HERE. I might say that I’ve seen a great deal of info about this product before I received my sample a few days ago – I swear I thought it was a cleanser right up until I opened it. Slightly annoying that you need to make a £35 spend to get 3 samples and free postage but if you feel tempted then there are still a couple of the Clinique sale bargains on their site to top it up (Plenty of Pop reduced from £39 to £19 and it’s 4 full size lipsticks or a Chubby Sampler for £12.50).
