[samplefromCHANEL/affiliate] UV Essentiel has had a change up of format for this summer being in a gel formula with a new key ingredient, Desert Yeast Extract.

CHANEL UV Essentiel Gel Creme SPF50

I’m still learning about Desert Yeast Extract myself because it’s a new ingredient to me but apparently, it deactivates skin’s stress receptors so that the pollution that aggravates them is less harmful. Which is excellent if you live in a high pollution area (which I do). However, the thing I like best about this is the gel formula – in reality it looks exactly like a regular sun screen cream (white lotion) but feels relatively light on the skin and is perfect under foundation or tint.

I’ve tested it with non-CHANEL bases – bareMinerals and Guerlain – and neither has interacted badly with the SPF; in fact, it’s served rather well as a moisturising primer. Added to anti-pollution properties, it also has antioxidant protection but the bottom line here is that it’s a very easy to use SPF with or without make-up, which is half the battle won trying to protect your face against sun. As you’d expect, it’s pricey at £46 for 30ml HERE. Non affiliate HERE.
