Phytosurgence Creme Blush Review

[purchase] So, first I should say that Canada based brand Phytosurgence is not available in or to the UK currently (it’s available to Canda, US, Australia & New Zealand). But, in the hopes that might change, I ordered a few items via a friend who lives in the US and another UK friend who was visiting brought it back and posted it to me. I’ve followed this brand for a long time on Instagram so was very excited to finally get a chance to use it. Currently, the brand is vegan and any mica used is guaranteed to be ethically sourced. The eyeshadows were listed as Best Creme Shadows on Temptalia in 2022 and have been hailed for their last, even on oily lids.

Both the blush and shadows come in small glass pots – a minor detail but an important one is that the product names are labeled with writing that is big enough to read. I can read them without my glasses which is saying something – no need to get the magnifying glass out for these.

In the picture above from left to right is: Singe Skin Spark Bush, Crystal Constellation Flash Florescence Eye Shadow and Sublimate Skin Spark Blush.

Here they are in the same order, top to bottom. They are so densely pigmented that what you see here is one light finger tap on the product swiped on my arm. Never have blushes been more buildable and so easily layered – you would need the tiniest dot to blend and if you think you need more, you add another tiny dot. They’re weightless on the skin, have such good slip they blend like a dream – they’re almost like blush serums with that lightness of texture. The Crystal Constellation Flash Florescence is my dream shadow – there’s some shimmer to this gilded taupe and while you can use a finger tip, I used a brush to apply. It’s so sheer in texture you can’t even feel it on your lids. One me, the last seems good, but even so, if you have very oily lids, I’d use a primer to belt and brace this one.

I’m wearing Crystal Consellation on my lids, and both Singe and Sublimate on my cheeks – just a sheer wash of both. If you’ve found you are more minimal in your make up but still want impact, Phytosurgence is just perfect. I don’t know if it’s a happy accident that they’ve created the ideal older woman product range (because nobody is making make up specifically for our age group – we don’t need it really, but do need to be more particular about what we choose from general brands as our tastes change). What’s even better is that Phytosurgence is a small brand – everything is done by a team of two – formula development, production, packaging design and order fulfillment – and this is a masterclass of small brand development. Slowly and safely but surely and confidently. I see why they’re not ready to upscale yet but fast forward five years and I’m betting they’re everywhere. Their website is HERE if you want to take a look and have relatives/friends in any of the four countries who might ship to you.

This is one of my favourite brands for cream products. The Spectral Skin is my dream highlighter – zero sparkle, just slightly blurring glow. Every time my Canadian cousin comes to the UK, she has to bring me an order! The guys that run the company are lovely too, which always helps, and their IG is great.

On Instagram they mentioned to me that they were at the very early stages of looking into regulations for coming here or to europe at least. They’re so nice – happy to buy from them forever really 🙂

I’m Canadian and hadn’t heard of the brand so I am very happy to see this and happy to support a Canadian brand, esp with such positive reviews! I’ve put an order for in already!

Oh let me know what you think! I am completely smitten 🙂

Weird question but do the exterior cardboard boxes for the products list the ingredients on there? I’ve ordered some to a shipping agent in the US to forward to the UK and wondering whether they will have an issue with anything in there and insist on shipping as hazmat! Probably overthinking!! I’ve been so keen to try out this brand and thought I’d found a brilliant solution!!

I honestly don’t remember what was on the boxes but the ingredients aren’t on the post so I’m guessing they must be on the box. You could check on their website what the ingredients are and then you’ll know.

I’ve had a look and think I might be in difficulty with some of the sparkle shades. However, it doesn’t look like it’s totally horrific if I upgrade to a hazmat shipping option so may well go ahead as I’ve been so keen to try these out (for the last year at least!). Let’s hope they manage to explore shipment to the Uk/ EU in the future!! Thank you for responding! Xx

No problem! I believe they are at the very early stages of exploring UK/EU 🙂
