Gucci Nail Lacquer

[unpaid/affiliate] I don’t know how it keeps happening but I have another Gucci crush. Of all the brands. But this nail colour – Peggy Sunburn (yes, true!). At first, I thought is was just an insipid, creamy peach that almost looks a bit grubby in the bottle but the transfer shade to nails is a joy.

Gucci Nail Lacquer Review

I was only curious really because of the Hermes lacquer and I wanted to do a comparison to the £56 options. This is a ‘mere snip’ at £24. I’ve looked across other reviews (amazing how there are so few actual reviews any more) and some have found them streaky but I must say, this is the dream polish both in terms of texture and finish.

Furthermore, it has not chipped in one single place despite severe provocation from me – yoga, cooking, dishwasher unstacking, usual life stuff. The texture is pleasantly fluid but not runny (hello, Hermes) which makes the application easy, as does the long brush. The bottle is based on vintage designs and I’m sure my grandma had long handled nail polishes – Cutex, maybe. The finish is glossy – I always use a top coat but even before I’d done that I could see that it was giving the right amount of gleam. So the dry colour is a couple of fractions deeper than the bottle colour and it’s a true transitional shade – bright enough to make you smile, but not so bright it feels too summery. I hate that I love it :-). You can find Peggy Sunburn HERE at Sephora. Do check out their ‘offers’ page – my favourite Tan Luxe has 34% off making it £23.67 instead of £36 HERE and that is a snip for this liquid gold.

I’ve got the Goldie Red and def recommend it. The thought put into selecting the shades, the great quality, all wrapped up in great fun packaging and imagery. And the long old fashioned handle actually does make for a steadier application.

      I’m a convert that’s for sure!

  2. I love the finish of the bottle, I think that just because of its vintage aesthetics it would encourage me to buy it without hesitation.

It is also wonderful that the color is warm without being 100% summery, I like nail polishes that can be used all year round.

Thank you very much for this honest review! It’s a joy to have bloggers like you 🙂

    Good day!

  3. Thanks for the review, I just slipped one into my cart (Light Pink) because I get 20% off this weekend. Looking forward to trying this!
