Essie Spring 2016 is all about the sunshine vibe of Florida. It’s a good edit because the slightly muted brights give it a point of difference against all the searing hot summer shades. As an interim collection I think it really works, with the exception of Off Tropic, which is a deep, forest green and I can see why it’s there, given the theme of Florida with the Everglades but it’s just a little jarring next to the other creamier colours.
Shades on the wheel from left to right are: Shades On, Sunshine State of Mind, High Class Affair, Pool Side Service, Lounge Lover and Off Tropic.
I love a lavender nail so Shades On is calling me, but also the peaches and cream of Lounge Lover – I’d wear that any day of the week. Essie Spring 2016 is limited edition – it’s in stores now until May, when I expect a super hot shade for beach toes will be waiting! They’re £7.99 each.

I’ve been waiting for the new Essie shades to pop up! How are the formulas of the peach and nude shades? Xx
creamy and very decent coverage. with the paler shade, use a white base coat.
I need Off Tropic in my life. I love those “black alternative” colours.
Ooh I love the look of these, especially High Class Affair – maybe a bit boring, but I love a nude nail. Sunshine State of Mind also looks like a perfect ‘sandals’ colour, if you know what I mean….
