While I prefer a simple brow mascara, the presentation of the YSL Couture Brow Palette is so lovely that I’m almost tempted to get more serious about my eyebrows! It’s a super-sleek and elegant compact containing three shades of brow powder, a mini tweezer and a mini brow brush.
Much as I love ‘mini’ things though, you better hope you can get to grips with tweezers that are doll-sized – I did manage to whip away some strays with them but am far happier with a bigger set. I think the real draw with the YSL Couture Brow Palette is that you can customise your brow shade. For whatever reason (dyeing, greying or sun mainly) brows can vary in shade and if you want to veer from natural looking to more dramatic and defined, you usually need more than one product to do it. Unlike other multi-shade brow compacts, I found the powders in this to be very blendable and soft but good stayers. I’m not that much into brows, but can see that if you love customising our brows and getting a very sharp and precise look, it’s all here. The one thing I think is missing is a little mascara style brow brush for a comb through.
I’ve only lightly swatched on my arm but you can see that there’s plenty of pigment that you can take up or down as you wish. It’s at the top end, price wise, at £35, but looks the part, at least. You can find it HERE.
