[unpaid/purchase] With the changing situation and the poor postmen and women buckling under the weight of trying to deliver things, I did a small on-line Superdrug shop for brands that I hadn’t come across before, with Rude beauty products being one, in case I got short on products to review.  Rude Cosmetics is a USA based brand in a similar vein to Revolution although from first experience, not as good.

The quality really isn’t there although it’s fun and feisty – and not as cheap, price wise, as I think it should be! This six pan was £11.99 in the sale, from £14.99.

But, bearing in mind different strokes for different folks – you will get there with the looks you want to create but it takes more effort and layering than the seamless glide of an Urban Decay (for example) palette. The colour intensity isn’t there at the first stroke so building is required. It’s droppy too and they don’t stand alone in that but it’s just a little insult to injury if you have to go over and over. The casing is cardboard – a little bit squashy but the lid stayed up so I could use the mirror – a big irritation is lids that slowly collapse forwards while you’re trying to apply your shadows. In truth, I didn’t keep the colour on all day so can’t speak to its longevity but did note that with Kiss Me (the rose gold) you are left with a lot of gold bits and not much rose.

From bottom to top: Make Me Laugh, Kiss Me, Sweet Caress, Call Me, Bat My Lashes and Shared Secrets. It’s a pass from me for the palette, but checking out the cocktail it’s named for – definitely a thumbs up. A Margarita Azul is agave tequila, Bols Blue and lime juice. Yum 🙂
