Ruby Hammer Magnetic Brush Set

[productsample] When I heard that Ruby (one of beauty’s most genuine and lovely people) was bringing out products, I couldn’t wait to discover more. Ruby Hammer has always, as long as I’ve been working in the beauty industry, been a point of call for expertise – there’s nothing she doesn’t know about make up application and artistic interpretation of colour.

It makes complete sense that a brush is the first place to start given that tools are so key to make up artistry, but this is no ordinary brush – it’s a tiered magnetic stack of three multi-functional brushes in one glamorously shiny scarlet cylinder, no bigger than your average mascara.

So, you can see that there is a Crease Brush, useful for creme and powder eye shadow or concealer, a Smudge Brush for lips or eyes (and handy too for applying shadow to the lower lash line) and an Angled Brush for brows or a liner flick. Each brush is denoted on the exterior so you always know which brush you’re going for. They all glide together seamlessly with a magnetic click. Because the components all hold together so well, whichever one you’re using sits on top of the others so you have a long handle for application.

Obviously, the hair is synthetic and therefore cruelty free – they’re made from high standard fibres so the quality is excellent. I love the presentation – the box is beautiful and instantly giftable – remember this when you’re wrangling with a hot mess of sellotape wrapping weird shapes! I think the price point of £28 is very reasonable for the quality and thoughtfulness of design – there is no mindful detail that’s missing. You can find Ruby’s brush HERE.

I love Ruby Hammer. Ruby and Millie came out as a range when I was a teenager and as a British Bangladeshi teenager until makeup she was an ICON for me, and always will be. This range looks so sleek and stunning.

Like the lady on Facebook I am sure she did make up brushes in the 90s/00s? I had a brilliant folding brow/lash comb that mysteriously disappeared and was found in a u-bend several years later.

This is great news. I had my makeup done for a night out at the weekend and was telling the mua that I still use two Ruby and Millie eyeshadow brushes bought around 2006. They’re used almost every day, been washed probably a thousand times and they still look like new. They’ve been the best brushes and although I’ve bought others, it’s always those two I use consistently. Two Mac brushes I’ve bought are literally falling apart with fibres falling out and wood breaking off the handle.

And how handy for travelling? I’m always worried I’ll ruin the bristles squeezing them into makeup bags.

Brilliant idea for travelling. I used to love the Ruby and Millie stuff when they were in Boots. Emma x
