[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m doing a silent high five for this Proud To Be Pink Bobbi Brown Gloss Duo – there’s been a disapproving undercurrent about breast cancer fund raising being swathed in pink that challenges the old pink/blue being female/male colours and the diversity connotations that raises. I just can’t raise my brows to feel disgruntled about any colour being associated with things that raise substantial funds to further research for this horrible disease that doesn’t care where you sit in any spectrum in the world. Bobbi Brown’s offering this year is as it says – proud to be pink and relating back to why the company uses the pink ribbon in the first place. Evelyn Lauder was the co-founder of the pink ribbon symbolising breast cancer awareness when the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign was founded in 1992. I have a lot to say about ELC but not on this point.
It feels like ages since I had a new Bobbi gloss – a new anything Bobbi actually – but as I tried them both on I was reminded of why it’s still one of the best glosses in existence. It has the right hold, the right glide and the right gleam – both the shades in this duo have a slightly peachy aspect so I can wear either very easily.
