[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I did a sneaky peek of this new Doraemon collection a couple of weeks ago, but now it’s available, it’s time to show the rest – and maybe the best!
The three Doraemon lipsticks are based on the Japanese character who denotes – I suppose you would say, hope and confidence to do the right thing in life. It’s tremendously popular in Japan and Asian countries – I’m always intrigued to see how cultural icons translate and it’s impossible to tell in this instance. I imagine that the UK holds significantly less stock than Japan for example because not as many people know the character. Whereas something like Mickey Mouse or Hello Kitty is universal, Doraemon isn’t – yet. But, if you know, you know.
So, as you can see, the core is the Doraemon character. The cores are translucent so don’t really have much effect on the overall colour of the lipsticks, although it contains some pearly sparkle for a twinkle effect.
These are more of a pearly balm finish although I don’t find the shimmer over the top at all. It’s definitely my preferred finish on any lipstick – not too much colour and a light catchy, sheen element.
The ‘gap’ down the middle is where the translucent core is – when you apply properly to your lips there’s no gapping at all. So, the first shade in the swatch is 005, followed by 006 and 004. They’re £24 each from Feel Unique HERE, non affiliate HERE – I seem to think that’s more expensive than in the past. Incidentally, there is still stock of the famous cat treatment lipsticks in Clear HERE for £14 (you need to buy the case separately if you don’t already have one) and I’m surprised because they’re always so popular especially for gifting cat lovers!
