The NARS Summer 2016 Under Cover is just a happy-maker! Fun packaging designed to put you straight on the French Rivera in your mind and some very beautiful colours that will have liquid lipstick loving beauties rushing straight to Selfridges where this collection is on an exclusive.
See what I mean?! In the swatch from nearest to furthest are: Members Only, Do Not Disturb, Get Dirty and Overheated. The new formula Lip Covers are intensely pigmented for complete colour saturation over the lip with a light sheen that’s near-ish matte but not quite. You’ll need high precision for these because one wrong move (as I discovered while swatching and testing) and it’s game over! This is colour not to be messed with. They’re £21.
The little Single Dual Intensity Eyeshadows are my favourite items from the NARS Summer 2016 Under Cover collection – super shimmery, beautiful pigment and sheer bliss to apply on the lids. They catch the light easily and I didn’t find them droppy at all.
The shades above are Deep End (aqua) and Topless.
And here, Tan Lines and Pool Shark. Pool Shark is a lavender shade with a butterfly wing iridescence to it – so pretty!
These swatches are out of the light…
And then, in the light so you can see how they really start to come to life. I think these four singles would make one awesome quad! They’re £21 each which seems a lot for a little shadow.
Finally, two dual blushes – the top is Liberation, with a light pink and a slightly pinked up caramel shade – both have sheen. The bottom is Sexual Content (urgh, please!) with a peachy shade and bronze. They’re also both £21.
I love that this collection is a) a small edit that all works together, and b) a bit less serious than most. The packaging is designed by a Greek painter, Konstantin Kakanias, and I really do get the buy a glamorous floppy hat and sip a gin-sling by the pool feel from it.
The collection is HERE.
