[productsample/affiliate] If you somehow missed the hype from across the pond about these epic liners, they couldn’t have landed at a better moment with hot and humid times ahead.
These are absolutely pigment packed – the black shade, Deep Onyx, is like a power-black that I wore on both inner and outer rims last night. I’ve also been wearing the blue shade, Deep Teal, on my inner rims this morning to see how it holds up through hay fever eyes.
Liners are really emerging as a popular new launch product – several brands are showcasing them for autumn. I love a liner – even when you have hardly a moment of spare time, a quick flick of a liner is a matter of seconds. I don’t do anything fancy with liners other than, er, just line. There’s no cat-eye business going on here! I like a smudged line on my upper lid and once you’ve made your line with the Maybelline Tattoo Liner Gel Pencils, there is just time to then smudge with a brush before they set. Weirdly, on my inner rims, the blue shade held up for far longer than the black.
In the swatch from bottom to top: Deep Teal, Deep Onyx, Rose Gold, Rich Amethyst, Deep Brown and Sparkling Silver. I’d easily wear all of these shades and I’d really recommend Rose Gold as something to pop in your holiday bag. The thing with these liners is that they do stay – I didn’t take them to the 36 hour claim – but there was a bit of fade towards the end of the evening. They’re not going to stay at the high impact that they start with (other than the metallics) but you will still definitely be wearing your liner at the end of the day or evening. It certainly won’t be all gone. The only downside is that they need regular sharpening to keep the solid gel tip sharp enough (put them in the fridge first to avoid a make up mash up). Brown and Black are already up on the Boots website HERE ahead of the official August launch. At £4.99 each I think that’s a very nice spend. Non aff HERE.
