Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Mattes
Makeup Revolution Mattes

If you’re like me and not at all sure on mattes, it doesn’t make any sense to do a big splash for a ‘let’s see’. Makeup Revolution has released some new mattes. I’ve put Red Carpet to the test (yes, I even went to Tesco wearing it!) and even though it’s a £3 lipstick, it didn’t dry my lips. It didn’t moisturise them either, but crucially, my lips aren’t as shrivelled as raisins which is often what can happen with mattes on my mouth.

From bottom to top are: Members Club, Best Friend, Diamond Life, Red Carpet and Chauffeur. In terms of colour stay, they aren’t the longest lasters I’ve ever come across, but pigment is great – no complaints at all in that respect. I would mind having to top up on a £25 lipstick, but I can’t say I would find that a problem on a £3 one. Matte formulas are really improving and this is a good one to try if you’re in the oh-no-I-can’t brigade. Because, as I’m discovering more and more myself, you probably can. Better still, there isn’t any taste to these and they’re mildly, slightly sweetly scented – no big smack down of vanilla.

They’re available from TAM Beauty HERE.
