Last year’s Lipstick Queen Frog Prince lipstick sold out completely when it launched, so this time there are two products to choose from: Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Blush and Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Gloss. Of course, they’re both green and of course, they don’t stay green once they hit your skin.. that might be a trend too far – although I quite like the idea of challenging traditonal shades for cheeks. Who is to say that a green cheek couldn’t be a thing?

The gloss has a gentle shimmer in the formula, while the blush is a gel-creme consistency and very sheer. They both work by adapting to the wearer’s pH level but the general result is a translucent raspberry shade.

This is how both go onto the skin….

And this is how they end up after a few minutes.

I know that pH change products aren’t really anything new, but I have genuinely never seen a green blush before and like both of these for bringing fun into the beauty equation. I kind of like the idea of casually reapplying your green gloss or blush in front of other people (the more the better) and watching their faces as they think you’ve gone bonkers! The resulting tint is wearable and rather pretty but particularly with the blush, I think you need a couple of practice sessions on your arm first to get the measure of how much or little you need to get the right amount for you. It is a fun concept but in practical terms, because it’s green, it’s hard to judge what might be a good amount!

They’re both £22 and launch into SpaceNK in May.
