Les Merveilleuses Laduree Swan Blush

[gift] If you’ve read BBB for a while, you might remember I was obsessed with it when it first launched several years ago. It was just the most creative way I’d ever seen make up and beauty presented and the few items I have are stored away like precious jewellery. This arrived for me today as a present (it’s not available in the UK or even to the UK) and it’s given me proper beauty thrills!

Les Merveilleuses Laduree Swan Blush

The thing you need to know about Les Merveilleuses Laduree as a brand is that it’s a Japanese take on French beauty so there are quirks about it that make it very distinct. It’s only sold really in Asia (I’ve found one French website HERE that sells it but not this particular item).

Les Merveilleuses Laduree Swan Blush

That perfect little rose bud you see is make up powder coated paper that allows you to swirl a very soft brush over it (along with the others, coming up next..) and apply a perfect veil of rosy glow to your cheeks.

I mean, honestly, aren’t they beautiful? Better yet, they’re rose scented, so when you take the lid off you get a gorgeous fresh rose fragrance. The leaves that create the flowers are very loose and quite soft (I had to pick them out carefully with tweezers to photograph them) so your brush won’t meet any resistance at all which allows the powders to adhere to the bristles really easily.

This is the kind of make up I find so exciting from creators who move possibilities along into reality. There are plenty of stockists in Asia but we’re yet to have one here. I always wondered why it never got to Harrods which seems like the perfect place for it as that’s a store that caters to customers from many different countries. I’ve been hopeful that we will have a UK stockist – even on line – for quite a long time now and I don’t discount the possibility. I can’t tell you the price as I don’t know but I would take a guess at it only being a little bit shy of the £100 mark. This French site has a few pieces HERE and if you want to see the full collection, head HERE.

I’m not sure I can properly explain the face I made when I saw this! Just wow. I usually try not to look at Les Merveilleuses Laduree because I know I am unlikely to be able to buy anything.

I did think it was a bit niche when Les Merveilleuses Laduree first launched but I’m always hopeful that it might eventually find some kind of stockist here.

I have the empty rose pot & the brush oot, fae 2014, I hink. At the moment I use the brush pot fir ma shoujo manga tools(ink brushes, dip pens), an’ I’ve an Ethique Deep Green face bar half in the rose pot. They look beautiful on ma white Dunelm dressin’ table.I
I hink I got them either via Amazon JP, YesAsia, or a site I firget. I really had te hunt aroond, he get them & at an agreeable price, as well.
I feel awfy lucky I did get them.
I would have loved the swan, if it was empty, though.
I really love their decorative & Re-Useable items(mair then Anna Sui designs). I would love te decant ma Vintorte mineral silk face powder, inte a foundation puff pot, if they hae wan(jus’, no in pink, as it’s an overdone colour in cosmetics packagin’). Ma only issue wi’ the brand collabo, is the usage of talc, an’ I hink mibbe parabens. The ingredients, either way, wouldny been great fir ma chemical sensitives, at aw. I’ve had a long history of wee red spots, itchy face, red skin, an’ such, fae make up brands. I’ve really had te search te find suitable stuff, that feels light, looks guid, an’ doesny make me ill.
Which, means Etvos(cheeks), Vintorte(face powder, Bésame(cake mascara), an’ Barry M(only their white eyeliner, nuthin’ else).

I’m going to investigate Etvos – it’s not a brand I know. I am very fond of my swan 🙂
