I feel I’m doing this ultra glam collection from Guerlain a disservice by not adding in a wintery back drop because it’s snow-scene perfect but it’s October! Just, but still. I’m missing a couple of pieces from the collection which I’ll add in if I can, including the Gold Palette which is just divine.
As you can see, there’s a little gold lash and brow mascara top coat (£18.45) – you should try and get it on before your black mascara has dried to help it stay longer. Actually, I prefer with top coats to just lightly tip the ends of your lashes with the shimmer – it’s not as full-on – I *think* I like the idea of putting it on brows. I haven’t tried it on my brows yet – there’s only so much my poor postman can take at 9am. He’s used to me opening the door with different coloured eye lids or covered in glitter, but gold brows could tip him. You can also pull the brush through your hair for sparkly strands.
The star of the show is the Meteorites Gold Pearls (£39.60) – very dressing table worthy! Someone commented on Instagram (join me if you haven’t already HERE) when I posted that it looked like there were less meteorites than usual. Turns out they’re right. I did a weight comparison to Happy Glow, which was 30g (but costs £47) and Pearls which was 25g (£37.35). These are Escentual prices – in store, the Gold Pearls are £44 or thereabouts. Meteorite weights and prices are a movable feast it seems. Anyway, the pearls are varying degrees of gold, but all the silky dispersal that you’d hope for when you swirl your brush about, and of course, with the signature scent.
The Ultimate Beauty Advent Calendar
The SpaceNK Advent calendar is almost here, pre-order for shipment on the 15th October with beauty gifts, worth over £700, from La Mer, Augustinus Bader, Rose Inc and more.
There are two Rouge G shades – this one is a classic orange/red shade. I’ve been testing so many gloss and matte textures this week, I sort of forgot the juicy glide of a ‘proper’ lipstick. It gives a gentle sheen and is medium/high pigment. This shade is Flaming Red and it’s £33.40.
Don’t judge! I’m having a problem getting those YSL Tatouge swatches to disappear completely! Anyhoo – the full line up, including the palette, is HERE.
