Givenchy Le Rouge Liquide

There is nothing not to like about the ingredients in this brand new offering from Givenchy, Le Rouge Liquide. I’m wearing it now and have been for a couple of hours so I can tell you the feel matches the promise. A blend of finely ground pigments with clay extract and a stretchy film, combined with hyaluronic acid and gatuline oil – I’m telling you, it’s like skin care for lips. Lovely.

Givenchy Le Rouge Liquide

When I first opened my samples, I thought the white coating was a kind of wax cap to the product and I could not have been more wrong! It’s a velvety fuzz that forms the top part of the applicator – the red that you can see behind is plastic and the product comes out of the hole. You turn the bottom part the lipstick to release product to the top. I’ll give you a warning here – don’t over rotate; go very gently doing this – it’s a smooth mechanic so it’s too easy to over-do it, especially if you’ve ever used one of the Stila lip glosses that requires a lot of rotation!

There’s a 14 strong shade range going from pale nudes through to vampy blackened red so an option for everyone. I think, personally, you’ll need to test run it so you get used to the amount that comes out on the rotation to get a precision application. The finish is gentle matte with a soft focus element and they’re £28 each. They’re launching into Debenhams – they may well have launched in store but they’re not quite yet on line.
