It’s all about the festivals with the new Face Lace SS16 collections – holographic rainbows of colour that, while primarily designed for the eyes and face, can be worn pretty much anywhere on the body. I love that the design above has two holographic bands that you can wear on the wrist or arm – it just makes the concept more versatile and wearable. Above is Featherave that’s taken its cue from Brazilian carnivals.

Iridisa, above, is all butterflies and flashes of iridescence. The beauty of Face Lace is that it’s not a one hit wonder – you can wear more than once as long as you’re not applying over body or face oils. These are so creative – not a season passes without Face Lace featuring on a runway somewhere with specially created laces for specific designers or shows.

They’re not quite commercial enough yet for those of us who love body adornment but can’t quite do the boldess of wearing them on our faces – I would LOVE some smaller designs to wear on my inner wrist which is where I tend to put gold tattoos in the summer. Sometimes it’s not about the big gesture, but more about an unexpected flash of light. The new collection is the best yet, I think. But, I probably say that every time I see new designs of Face Lace! You can find them all HERE (from £9.99).
