Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2018

Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2018

Even if you can’t picture yourself in a yellow lipstick, these Miss Sicily Colour and Care Lipstick textures are absolutely beautiful. They’re much more a wash of colour rather than a saturation and leave a balmy tint on the lips.

D&G always goes strong on summer shades – juicy, vibrant and tropical – which makes them perfect for sunshine days. The yellow shade, Gaetana Summer, isn’t quite as fierce as you might think. It gives almost a neutral tint on the lips that, although a tad lemony, drops your lip colour down as a nude or neutral lipstick might do. It’s not going to be for everyone, but you certainly won’t end up with banana lips! A lot of how this looks in reality has to do with your skin tone in the first place – deep tones will rock this in a way that paler tones might struggle to achieve.

The hidden gem is Antonia – a lightly shimmer shot, warm brown tint that is beautifully flattering, especially if your tone has warmed with the sun. Maria is a vibrant orange/red but because it’s a wash rather than full pigment you can probably wear it even if it’s normally a shade you’d shy away from.

I think, because they fall into the Miss Sicily category, these are designed to hit millenials in that kind of ‘less’ way that’s assumed, but frankly, these are every age lip colours and if you have an issue with lipstick bleed, you won’t have nearly the same issue with these thanks to the balm texture and light pigment. They’re £27 each HERE.

Sorry I must be getting old but could you please explain to me what this actually means?

Millenial make up trends are more minimalist – so less big smacks of colour and more about subtlty. See similar shifts from full coverage foundation to tinted moisturisers, fat lash mascaras to natural lash or even clear mascaras .. that kind of thing.
