I loved the original Clinique Pops – Blush Pop is one of the few lipsticks I actually wear regularly. It’s described as a demi-matte lipstick and primer but to be honest, the primer element is a bit of a fail because I associated a primer with longer wear and you could never describe the lipsticks as long wear. It’s the same with the new Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer – primer element doesn’t help with longevity at all.
However, if you don’t mind a bit of reapplication (because beyond a doubt you will need to reapply) the colour line up is absolutely lovely and the formula doesn’t seem to have the drying aspect that I associate with mattes. Coral Pop (3rd up) is the most beautiful, flattering and vibrant colour that’s perfect for holiday sunshine. If you like mattes, and don’t mind a bit of reapplication, I think that shade will seduce you!
So, in the swatch, the shades are: Peony Pop, Pow Pop, Coral Pop, Beach Pop, Icon Pop and Mod Pop. There are 16 colours in the Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer line up and they’re £16 each. Looking for the link I notice that there is an offer for a free Take The Day Off Makeup Remover (30ml) with any Clinique Pop product using code POP16 HERE.
