Chantecaille Matte Chic

Heading our way a little later into the summer are the three new Matte Chic Liquid Lipstick shades. Mattes aren’t my favourites, but I’ve got to say that these look super matte and yet don’t feel matte at all on the lips. They retain some ‘slide’ which makes them feel almost satin, and there is none of that sticky or dry feel that you can sometimes get. In terms of comfort, these are winners. Shades are inspired by 90’s supermodels and named for Linda, Helena and Christy. They look close in colour in the bottles but once swatched you can see they all have a personality of their own.

First is Linda, next is Christy and third is Helena. Alongside the three lip covers is a swatch of the new shade of Cheek Gelee in Lively. These mattes are some of the very few that don’t make my lips look like I’ve been in a desert for weeks and they last and last. They’re expensive at £33 but definitely live up to expectations (although I did fine existing shades with £10 off HERE).

If you like a whippy and light cheek tint, these gelees have a flattering translucency that gives cheeks just a touch of colour. If you use a tinted moisturiser during summer rather than full on foundation, then the high water content texture is perfect over a light base or even bare skin for a natural dewy look.

This shade, Lively, hasn’t launched yet, but there is already a pink shade with a light pearl called Happy HERE. It’s also £33. These are good for older skin as there is no diryness coming from them at all and they move with your complexion rather than seep into any creases.
